Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies

These Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies are made with Oreo cookie crumbs, crushed Oreo pieces, and chocolate chips. Milk's favorite cookie just got better!

With an Oreo texture crumb, these cookies give the best of both worlds - crunchy like an Oreo and chewy like a chocolate chip cookie.

Ingredients in Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • All-purpose flour - spooned and leveled to avoid using too much flour in the recipe.
  • Baking soda
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Salted butter - You can opt for unsalted butter if you prefer.
  • Granulated sugar
  • Brown sugar - packed and measured
  • Egg
  • Vanilla extract
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Oreos - 10 Oreos ground finely that are added to the cookie dough and 10 Oreos that are crushed and placed on top of the cookies.

How to Make Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Prepare the oven and cookie sheets - Preheat the oven to 375ºF, line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

Grind the Oreos - Finely grind the 10 Oreos using a food processor.

TIP: A food processor creates finely ground crumbs quickly and easily.

Start making the cookie dough - Beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy. Add in the granulated sugar and the brown sugar and beat until combined. This will take roughly 3 minutes.

Beat in the egg and vanilla - Beat in the egg until incorporated and stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine the dry ingredients - In a separate bowl, combine the spooned & leveled all-purpose flour, the baking soda, and salt.

Add the dry mix to the wet mix - Slowly mix the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and blend the ingredients together until everything is moistened.

Stir in the mix-ins - Using a spoon, gently stir in the chocolate chips and the finely ground Oreos.

Scoop the cookie dough - Using a #40 (.78 ounce) cookie scoop (or using by scooping 1.5 tablespoons of dough) scoop the cookies and place them onto the cookie sheets two inches apart.

Add the crushed Oreos - Take the remaining Oreos and crush them into large pieces and gently press them on top of the cookie dough.

Bake - Bake the cookies one cookie sheet at a time for 10-11 minutes.

Cool the cookies - Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an air-tight container.
