How to Make Oreo Halloween Cookies

Prepare the oven and cookie sheets – Preheat the oven to 375ºF and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper and set aside.

Grind the Oreos and measure the candies – Finely grind 10 Oreos using a food processor.

TIP: A food processor creates finely ground crumbs quickly and easily.

Start making the cookie dough – Beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy. Add in the granulated sugar and the brown sugar and beat until combined. This will take roughly 3-4 minutes.

Beat in the egg and vanilla – Beat in the egg until incorporated and stir in the vanilla extract until mixed.

Combine the dry ingredients – In a separate bowl, combine the spooned & leveled all-purpose flour, the baking soda, and salt.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture – Slowly mix the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and blend the ingredients together until everything is moistened.

Stir in the mix-ins – Using a spoon, gently stir in the chocolate chips, M&M’s, and the ground Oreos.

Scoop the cookie dough – Using a #40 (.78 ounce) cookie scoop (or using by scooping 1.5 tablespoons of dough) scoop the cookies and place them onto the cookie sheets two inches apart to prepare them for baking.

Top with candies – Take the remaining Oreos and crush them into large pieces and gently press them on top of the cookie dough. Gently press some M&M’s on top of the cookie dough.

Bake – Bake the cookies one cookie sheet at a time for 10-11 minutes.

Add the candy eyeballs – Decorate the baked cookies with candy eyeballs and add extra M&M’s if desired.

Cool – Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an air-tight container until ready to serve. Eat within 3-5 days for maximum freshness.

Can I use other cookies instead of Oreos for these Halloween Cookies?

Yes, you can use other cookies to substitute the chocolate Oreo cookies in these Halloween Cookies. Chocolate chip cookies, golden Oreos, or other packaged cookies should work.

It will change the overall flavor of the cookies but they’ll still be a fun Halloween treat!
