Air Fryer Chicken & Cheese Taquitos
You can make these taquitos in any type of air fryer but I used my Instant Pot Vortex Plus. It fit almost all of the taquitos on the two trays that come with the Vortex Plus.
It only took 8 minutes for each batch of these taquitos in this oven. If you have a different air fryer, especially one that doesn't fit as much, it will take longer depending on how many batches you have to air fry them in.
Instant Pot Vortex Air Fryer Settings
To make air fryer chicken & cheese taquitos, you will need these accessories and settings:
- Vortex racks
- Air Fry Setting
- Temperature set to 375°
- Time Setting set to 8 minutes
You will rotate the racks and flip the taquitos when the Vortex tells you to do so at the halfway mark of air frying.
Making Chicken & Cheese Taquitos
It's really simple to make these yummy appetizers. You start with us a tortilla, spread the chicken on the bottom half, sprinkle the cheese above it, and then roll the tortilla up starting on the side with the fillings.
When placing these in the air fryer, place the seam side down so that they don't pop open! You can also use toothpicks to hold them closed while transferring them to the air fryer if you wish.

Air Fryer Chicken & Cheese Taquitos
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken - shredded
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese - shredded
Toppings
- queso fresco - optional
- shredded lettuce - optional
- diced tomatoes - optional
- salsa - for dipping
- 12 Tortillas
Instructions
- Mix together the cooked shredded chicken and the cumin, chili powder, salt, and garlic powder. Blend well.
- Lay the tortillas on a flat surface and add the cooked chicken to the bottom half of the tortilla.
- Lay mozzarella cheese above the chicken and roll the tortilla up.
- Set the air fryer to AIR FRY, 375°, and 8m minutes.
- Lay the tortillas on the trays with the seam down and press start.
- Turn the tortillas halfway through (rotating trays {if needed} and flipping taquitos).
- Serve hot with desired toppings.
