Frosted Animal Crackers

My kids always want to help out in the kitchen but are usually looking for something fun and fast to make.  These Frosted Animal Crackers are the solution - It's only a 3-step process to make them!

I have to admit it, my kids really aren't a fan of the traditional animal crackers and I really wasn't as a child, either.  Years ago, when the frosted animal cracker came out, I loved it.

However, for the amount that you got in the bag and the price tag wasn't exactly cost-efficient for my family.  Now, I'm not saying that I never buy them - I do.

There's just something fun about making them with my kids.  They're not very messy, they're easy to assemble, and you get a lot more volume than in the bags.  It's also a great activity to do with little ones who can't really get into the kitchen and get cooking, yet!

To reduce the mess in making these, use wax paper.  You'll have fewer drips to clean up and it definitely makes clean up a breeze.  You simply melt white chocolate chips in the microwave according to the instructions and dip the animal crackers into the chocolate.

Lay them out on the wax paper and sprinkle them with your choice of sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.  We went with the 4th of July sprinkles because it's getting so close to the holiday.

My daughter has requested sprinkles to match her upcoming birthday party, even though we haven't figured out what the theme is, yet! 🙂

These Frosted Animal Crackers are Easy Class Parties

After making these Frosted Animal Crackers, I threw them in a Ziploc bag and handed them out to the kids when it was treat time.

I'm planning on making these for the kids' lunches when school comes back around.  They'd also be great to make ahead and give out on snack and party days at school.

Changing up the sprinkles is perfect for any holiday or theme the school may be having!  You can easily dye the chocolate as well to give them a little more color.
