Quick and Easy Christmas Cookies

Making these cookies are quick, easy, and great cookie dough to work with. Kids can easily help make these!

In this recipe, shortening is used in place of butter. Butter can be used but the results will vary and the dough will need to be chilled before baking. Using shortening causes these cookies to be soft and chewy. It also helps the cookies keep their shape well.

This Santa's Cookies dough has a mixture of white sugar and brown sugar. The sugars are beaten into the shortening, followed by the eggs, vanilla extract, and dry ingredients.

When it's time to mix in the chocolate chips, M&M's, and jimmies, they blend easily into the mix and it's ready to scoop these cookies onto the baking sheet.

I use silicone baking mats when baking cookies because it's mess-free, nonstick, and the cookies just slide right off!

I also use cookie scoops to get the same size cookies! It works wonders for all cookie doughs!

These cookies only bake in the oven for 9-11 minutes. Just until the edges have lightly browned. Once out of the oven, I like to top with additional candies for presentation. Not necessary, but it makes them look even more delicious.
