– unsalted butter – light brown sugar – granulated sugar – egg + egg yolk – white vinegar – vanilla extract – red food coloring – unsweetened cocoa powder – all-purpose flour – baking soda – salt – cream cheese – powdered sugar – milk
Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Mix the wet ingredients
Melt the unsalted butter either on the stovetop or in the microwave. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat in the egg and egg yolk, vanilla extract and red food coloring and mix until combined and smooth.
Make the Cookie Dough
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix together until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Scoop the cookie dough
Use a #40 cookie scoop (or by 1 tablespoon) to scoop cookies out. Roll into a ball and place on the prepared cookie sheet two inches apart.
Bake the cookies for 9 to 10 minutes or until the tops are cracked and the cookies are set. Be careful not to overbake.
