Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 4 ounces of semisweet chocolate and allow it to cool.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
Mix in the granulated sugar, the cooled melted chocolate, and cocoa powder.
Beat the eggs in as well as the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, combine the spooned & leveled all-purpose flour together with the baking powder and salt.
Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until incorporated. Don't over-mix.
Use a spoon to stir in Reese's Pieces. Reserve some Reese's Pieces to place on top of the cookies before baking.
Scoop by 3 tablespoons (or use a #20 cookie scoop) and place the balls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheet two inches apart.
Top with additional chocolate chips if desired.
Bake for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake.
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container.
Notes
This dough can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Placing extra Reese's Pieces on top of the cookies before baking will make the cookies more decorative.
