1package taco seasoning mix or two tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning mix
4.5ouncecan of chopped green chilies
1 ¼cupmilk
3eggs
¾cupBisquick mix or other biscuit baking mix
1cupshredded Monterey Jack
½cupshredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Grease a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray or use a cast iron skillet.
Cook and brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a 10-inch skillet until the beef is brown and crumbled.
Stir beef and the taco seasoning mix together and add in the chopped green chilies.
Spoon the beef mixture into the prepared pie plate or continue using the cast iron skillet.
In a mixing bowl, beat the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs with a wire whisk or spoon until only small lumps remain.
Add half of the Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese on top of the beef.
Pour the biscuit mixture over top of the cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Top with the remaining Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese.
Bake for an additional 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the taco pie stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with guacamole, salsa, sour cream, chopped fresh tomatoes, sliced olives, extra cheese, and chopped lettuce as desired.
