box white cake mix

large eggs

molasses

Cream Cheese Frosting
8
ounces
cream cheese
room temperature

salt

powdered sugar

teaspoon
vanilla extract
Instructions
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray a large loaf pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper if desired.
In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, molasses, milk, and spices.
Mix on low speed until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed.
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the frosting, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add salt, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and spread over the cooled loaf.
Notes
Let the loaf cool completely before frosting so the icing doesn’t melt.
The loaf can be left unfrosted if you prefer it less sweet.
Flavor deepens slightly the next day.
