Chocolate Caramel

Great as a gift!

Chocolate Caramel Popcorn is perfect to give in Christmas tins but it's also perfect to snack on during movies any time of year.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– popcorn – salted butter – light brown sugar – light corn syrup – sea salt – dark chocolate, melted

Preheat the oven to 300°F Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper

Pop 10 cups of popcorn and place in a very large bowl.

In a small saucepan, melt the salted butter. Add in the light brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Bring the mixture to a low boil and add the corn syrup. Boil for 4 minutes, stirring constantly.

Make the caramel

Carefully remove the saucepan from the heat and pour a little at a time onto the popcorn. Stir the popcorn and repeat.  Stir to coat well and transfer the popcorn to the parchment paper-lined in a single layer.

Sprinkle the popcorn with sea salt. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Stir the popcorn every 10 minutes.

Melt a dark chocolate melting bar or chips according to directions on the package. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn and stir to coat well.
