White Chocolate Oreo Truffles
This is a variation of the Chocolate Dipped Oreo Truffles. I usually make both because they’re a huge crowd pleaser.
For the truffles:
1 16 ounce package of Nabisco Oreo Cookies, put aside 5 Oreos
1 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
For the coating:
16 ounces of White baking chocolate
5 Oreos, crumbled
Note: I used a KitchenAid Mixer for this recipe. Please feel free to use a hand mixer or food processor if you wish.
For White Chocolate Oreo Truffles with chocolate drizzle please see bottom of recipe for that variation.
Place package of Oreos in mixing bowl and beat on medium unit cookies are crumbled and fine.
Cut the softened 8 ounce package of cream cheese into squares, add into mixing bowl and blend until smooth.
Lay wax paper on cookie sheet and roll mixture into 1 inch balls.
Put cookie sheet in fridge and chill for about half an hour. You don’t want them to be sticky to the touch.
Place wax paper on countertop to put freshly dipped truffles.
Prepare remaining 5 cookies by placing them in a Ziploc bag and using a rolling pin to crush cookies.
Place chocolate wafers in microwaveable bowl and heat at 30 second intervals, stirring after each heat up.
Place truffle on fork and lower into chocolate. Use spoon to cover truffle. Bounce fork on side of bowl to shake off excess chocolate.
Top with crumbled Oreo cookies.
Place back in fridge until firm. Keep refrigerated in air tight container… if they last that long.
To use chocolate drizzle instead of crushed Oreo’s for your topping:
4 ounces of melting chocolate
Melt on 30 second invervals to achieve thin consistancy.
Using fork, use a side to side sweeping motion to cover truffles with chocolate drizzle. Place in fridge for chocolate to set. Keep refrigerated in air tight container.
